If you’re nearing the end of your Invisalign treatment, you’ve probably been giving a little thought to what happens next. Here’s what to expect once your treatment is complete!
Teeth Whitening
Often Invisalign patients choose to whiten their teeth after Invisalign treatment is complete in order to highlight their straight new smiles and complete their new look!

Retainers
When your Invisalign treatment is complete, the maintenance portion of your orthodontic treatment will start. This primarily means one thing: a retainer.
After any type of orthodontic treatment, the teeth will not be as firmly set in the surrounding tissues as they once were. To keep them from shifting back out of position over time, you will need to wear a retainer.
At first, you will probably need to wear your retainer full time, to give your teeth an opportunity to settle into their new positions. Over time however, you will probably be able to downgrade to wearing your retainer on a part-time basis. This could mean wearing them only on certain days in a week, or just at night.
Regular Dental Checkups
You will need to continue visiting your dentist regularly for cleanings and checkups after Invisalign treatment is complete, just like you always have. Of course, you will no longer need to attend the extra Invisalign-specific checkups, so while we’ll still be seeing you regularly, it won’t be as frequent!
